What is the Paleo Diet?

The Paleo diet has a natural approach to healthy eating. Rather than focus on which foods should be eaten or avoided, this diet goes back in time trying to imitate what primitive man consumed naturally.

The Paleo diet is based on foods consumed by hunters and gatherers of the Paleolithic (Stone Age). For this reason the diet took the abbreviated name of the Paleo diet.

Many people also refer to this as the Paleolithic diet to diet of the hunter and collector, because of the way in which the food was produced and consumed in the Stone Age. The men would come out and hunt wild animals and fish to catch proteins. The women and children were going to pick up fresh fruit, berries, nuts, herbs, leaves and vegetables.
